2014

A whole year?

by jdfulkerson
It has been brought to my attention by several people that I have not posted anything for a WHOLE YEAR. Sorry, I'll try to get this caught up when I can.

New Neon

New Neon for the collection. Yard Sale find, Yeah!

Campout at Dead Horse State Park

A nice getaway trip to Dead Horse State Park outside of Cottonwood. Late April.

May 10. Rebuilding the Koi Pond

We wanted to get the Koi pond rebuilt before Summer started to peak. On May 10 we got the water started. Here is Sierra working hard. Alas, a few months later at summers hottest, three Koi committed Sushi Suicide by managing to disconnect the pump. The water temperature shot up causing the oxygen level to plummet. Dead fish.

The Phoenix Comic Con gang

On her birthday, Sierras friends gave her a full membership to Comic con. She had a great time with her friends, She was even noticed by a T.V. Star from Supernatural. Who liked her cosplay version of his character.

 Big Surf

Big Surf is one of the first (if not the first) Wave pool water park. We went there on 7/12/2014. Sierra brought along her friend Colette. Here Sierra is going on a Zip line for the first time.

Time for a change

In August Rob and Theresa switched over to Landstar.

Grand Canyon Trip

Needing a get away trip as we didn't go anywhere all summer, we decided on a weekend trip to Williams and the Grand Canyon. Was not as relaxing as we wished. A fatal accident slowed our progress out of town, adding three hours to our initial travel time. The Jeep was up and running and did a fine job. We went to the Grand Canyon on Saturday. Sierra took this and many other great photos. This was about 20 feet away from the car. Saturday evening we had dinner with friends in Flagstaff, then back to our cabin at the Williams Circle Pine KOA. Sunday we packed and headed home.

Pumpkin Patch at Pioneer Village

Oct. 12 we went to Pioneer Village North of Phoenix. Lots of old buildings and lots of fun.

Bats, man!

We went to the Arizona State Fair on Oct. 26. They had a great "Hall of Heros" traveling exhibit. Here I am in half of one of the 1965 Batmobiles from the Batman T.V. series.

Halloween 2014

Sierra the Gypsy.

Outstanding Student

On November 6, Sierra was awarded as being an Outstanding Student in her Creative Writing Club.

Welcome to our Cats

Sierra and Musette. Musette was the Mom cat. She loved being a house cat but when her humans left, she got left behind. She hung around the neighborhood for over a year, eventually making our back yard her base. She had kittens, in our shed. We took them all in. Feed them, fixed them, and sent them on their way. Of course they knew a good thing when they saw it. Musette is very happy with being a house cat again. She sleeps with Sierra sometimes, As I type this she is sleeping on a shelf to the left of the keyboard on the computer desk.

Once getting over her confusion, Kara has actually made friends with the cats. Her and Girly are frequently found together.

Here is Kara, Musette and Booger.

Last certainly not least, Fluffy. The only male of the group. He has decided I'm the human he wants to hang with. He puts up with everyone, but INSISTS that I MUST PET HIM . . . NOW!
He is a very odd cat.

Sometimes Musette wants to be outside all night, but she tends to get into fights, so we would rather keep her inside. All the others have not learned appropriate manners for being in the house all night. Around 9:30 I call everyone outside. Fluffy gives me his "Me too? Awww" look and walks out the door.
We are working on them and maybe they might become housecats after all.

Thanksgiving 2014

Rob and Theresa was over to share Thanksgiving with us.

 Tree trimming party

Sierra had some of her friends over to decorate our tree, eat pizza, and decorate cookies.
